Best Budgeting Apps for Europe: Bank Connections, Pricing and Features
The best budgeting app for you starts with two questions: does it support your accounts, and does its approach suit how you manage money? This shortlist compares four options for European users, each with a different emphasis.

Talvo publishes this guide and is included in the comparison. We compared published product information, not hands-on test results. Details were checked on 11 October 2026. Prices and bank coverage can change; check the linked official pages before subscribing.
Four options at a glance
Treat bank coverage as a first filter, then compare budgeting style, currencies, access on your preferred device and the cost after the trial. A long list of supported banks is useful only if your own accounts are on it.
| App | Useful if you want | European bank connections | Pricing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Talvo | A combined view of accounts, spending and rollover budgets | European banks; confirm your account in the app | Free manual plan; Plus €9.99/month or €59.99/year |
| YNAB | An active plan that gives each unit of money a job | Selected UK and EU banks | US$14.99/month or US$109/year, plus applicable tax |
| Bilance | A mobile app for categorised spending and recurring expenses | EU and EEA coverage; check the bank list | Paid subscription after a free trial; check local app-store pricing |
| Lunch Money | Flexible web-based tracking with multiple currencies | Check support for your bank and import method | US$10/month; flexible annual pricing on the official page |
Talvo: accounts and budgets together
Talvo brings European bank accounts, spending, budgets and net worth into one view. Rollover budgets, manual accounts and money-flow insights are available on Starter. Plus adds bank sync and automatic categorisation. It is a fit if you want to see where your money goes and manage category budgets alongside that overview.
Check that your bank and account type can connect. Talvo's bank access is read-only: the app tracks your money, while payments and transfers remain with your bank.
YNAB: a deliberate spending plan
YNAB centres on assigning the money you have to specific jobs. Consider it if you want an active budgeting routine rather than mainly reviewing past spending. Its pricing page lists selected UK and EU banks for direct import. A single spending plan uses one currency, so check that limitation if your accounts span several currencies.
Bilance: budgeting on your phone
Bilance offers European bank connections, automatic categorisation, budgets and recurring-expense tracking. Its site lists availability across EU and EEA countries. Consider it if you prefer managing money on your phone. Confirm your bank in its coverage list and the subscription price in your local app store.
Lunch Money: flexible tracking across currencies
Lunch Money combines a web app, multiple currencies, categories, automation rules and transaction importing. Consider it for cross-border finances or a more custom tracking workflow. Its pricing page offers a monthly subscription and flexible annual pricing, with currency options. Check how your specific bank connects and whether you need file imports.
Try your real workflow before committing
During a trial, check one complete month: can you find all your accounts, keep internal transfers out of spending and correct categories easily? Try an irregular bill, a refund and an account that needs manual tracking. Those tasks will tell you more than a feature count.
Choose the app you will keep using. If you only need a few monthly totals, a spreadsheet or manual tracker may be enough. If several banks make the overview difficult, automatic imports may be worth the subscription.
